Working Hard has its advantages

The last month or two have been extremely busy for me — work wise. I seem to have had little time to socialise and have been working much more than usual.

I blogged at the end of last year on how I completely changed my career — it's been a good move. I've had a great work-life balance. However, the last few months have been a busy spell. I'm not sure why, but it just happened and my diary was rammed.

The last few weeks have been especially busy. I spent 11 nights away from home, working. I returned for one night, then I was off on my travels again, but just for an evening event and an overnight stay.

And the results

I have accrued so much annual leave and TOIL (time off in lieu, where I am not paid for extra hours, but I get the time back).

This means I have now finished my work commitments for the rest of 2025. In fact, I have had to carry-forward 5 days of holiday (maximum I can do) into 2026.

So there you have it my fellow reader; David is now in full holiday mode for at least the next 40 days until we creep into next year. 🥳
